DOWN TO THE BONE
Down to the Bone’s music encompasses all that is funky, soulful, and jazzy. As founder and producer of the band, Stuart Wade, states, “Its all about the groove… that is what gets people dancing, their toes tapping, and their heads nodding.” Far from your run of the mill contemporary jazz chart-topper, Down to the Bone is fronted by DJ extraordinaire Stuart Wade, who deftly mixes samples and prerecorded instrument tracks with the live performance of the rest of band. Wade formed the band in 1996, but Down to the Bone did not become Wade’s full time project until 2001. Throughout its career, the band has produced eight critically acclaimed albums including From Manhattan to Staten, the chart topping The Urban Grooves, and their most recent effort, Future Boogie . With annual gigs being a major part of Down to the Bone’s success, the band has the chance to get straight down to the raw groove with their audience.
