The 2010 American Smooth Jazz Awards

The first ever American Smooth Jazz Awards will take place on Oct. 29 at the Blue Chip Casino Hotel & Spa in Michigan City, Indiana. As the event approaches the people are encouraged to vote for each of the 18 categories. Bernie Scott, president of Scott & Company Music Group and the American Smooth Jazz Awards is spoke on the event saying that “We want smooth jazz fans from all over the globe to be part of the voting process”

The awards are to be hosted by guitarist Nick Colionne and Chicago radio personality Rick O’Dell. Regina Tisdale will present the Wayman Tisdale Humanitarian Award, in honor of her late husband and bassist Wayman Tisdale. The night will also include a presentation of a Lifetime Achievement Award to pianist, composer and producer David Benoit.

Those in attendance will see performances Richard Elliot and Peter White as well as many others. Here’s a list of the nominees that will be Smooth Cruising on the Hudson with us this summer.
